Using Squidoo to Share Basic Personal Finance Tips

I haven't made a 'personal finance' lens on squidoo in a while, but I started out doing almost nothing but that, with lenses on P/E ratios , Ex-Div dates, Discount Stock Brokers, and Roth 401(k)s.

It's a little different making one than the standard personal finance blog post, because it can actually turn into a 'pillar' about the topic that other PF bloggers will reference in their posts.

I'll try to build some more soon and share how I did it a little more in depth...

Just finished a new one today on the new type of options trading that just came out called Fixed Return Options. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Bonus points are available ;)

P.S. Don't worry, I'll bring all this finance stuff back around to making money with Squidoo....

Cap'n, I took a look and left a comment. The lens has good information for starting an investigation.

I haven't made one for a while myself. One of my early lenses was on developing your personal investment style. It probably needs a refresh. I'm currently re-reading my favorite investment book, The Zürich Axioms, perhaps I'll save that full refresh till I'm done.

I'm an econ major and the trading book I have enjoyed the most is "Fooled by Randomness". Have any of your read that? It has really opened my eyes. Our brain is used to assuming causality between two independent occurrences which is why we have to train it to realize that most of the time it's only correlation.

Very fascinating subject, at least to me.

with my engineering background I often find causality interesting also.

for example, Al Gore's take on global warming equates to 'since some cars are blue, all things blue must be cars'. It just doesn't work.

I haven't but I might just have to snag it and take a read, it sounds like a good one. thanks for the tip!

Nice book, Taleb's new one The Black Swan is also illuminating.

You might enjoy this Times article about Nassim Taleb.

The most interesting economist I've read since C. F. Bastiat is Hernando de Soto.
